Our Teacher

Our teacher is Kayleigh Phillipps and here is her swimming story:

I started swimming lessons myself as a toddler and have never looked back! Since learning to swim I have completed all swimming lesson levels and my love for the sport drove me to become a competitive swimmer for Reading Swimming Club specialising in Breaststroke for 9 years and have since joined my university team and competed for Manchester Metropolitan University where I achieved a First Class Honours Degree in BSc Psychology with Sport.

I have completed both my level 1 and level 2 teaching qualification and am therefore a fully qualified teacher. I have taught and coached for over 12 companies ranging from small local business’ and local competitive clubs to wide world leisure centres teaching people from all backgrounds and of all abilities!

As a swimmer myself I love the water and want to share my enjoyment with others and also understand the importance of this vital life skill. My main aim is to get adults and children enjoying being in the water and get them safe both in and around water, swimming is vital life skill! For me, starting swimming lessons at the age of 1 years old has made swimming more than just a weekly activity, it has become my hobby, my career and my passion.
